This has been a crazy fun week with the 4th of July and all! We hope everyone had a great holiday! Our Wood Connection giveaway ends TOMORROW! That means there’s still time to enter for your chance to win $25 to the Wood Connection! Speaking of the Wood Connection, some supplies for this project are from there.
Giving pictures that canvas looking finish is super easy! Here’s what you’ll need:
wood blocks (mine are 4×6), texture cream, wood glue, paint roller, and pictures of course.
First, paint the edges of the block.
Use wood glue to attach the picture to the block.
Once the wood glue is dry, file/sand the edges of the picture.
Now for the texture cream! This wonderful stuff is what gives that canvas look.
Paint it onto the picture.
Then use a roller brush over the surface. I noticed whatever you use to apply the texture cream is the texture the picture will have. So if you brush it on, the picture will have a brushed texture. The roller makes it look like genuine canvas.
It takes about 30 minutes to dry. Then they’re ready to display!
These are the blessing pictures of each of my babies with their plaster of Paris foot and hand molds. I love them! I scored this vintage crate at an Antique store for $8 and it serves as the perfect display case for my baby treasures. : )
I can’t wait to use the texture cream to do some more Canvas pictures. I have a few in mind already!
