My AMAZING Grandma Goldie gave me this birdcage a few months ago. It was home to many real birds that she has had. My dad saw it in my house and said he remembers the birdcage from way back when he was a teenager! Oh- the treasure I have scored! I am absolutely smitten by it! I’ve had a hard time decorating it for everyday, (do share if you have any suggestions) but Halloween-I can totally do! I just stacked a few old books then added 3 of my favorite Apothecary jars and some spider web. The jars are thrift store finds. The bats are from the Dollar Store, the Mice Dust is some spices mixed together (I just raided my spice cabinet,) and the Frog Bones are Chinese Noodles.
This glass dish with the skull is one of those trifle cake dishes. It was a wedding gift, and I think it’s primary purpose has become Halloween decor. It’s perfect for housing my Dollar Store skull and some creepy spiders.
I topped the whole thing off with some creepy fabric.
Perfect!
This is the creepiest I’ve gotten this year.
It’s definitely less spine chilling than what I’ve done in the past.
Check out this Apothecary Jar post to see some of my past creepy
but awesome Halloween displays.
The spooky birdcage is in the same room as my Coffee filter wreath and Spider web wall.

What do you think? Do you do some creepy or stick with cute for Halloween?
