Have you heard already?! We’re giving away a full set of braces! There’s also an amazing offer for EVERYONE who enters the giveaway. There is still time to enter, just keep reading. Now let’s learn a little about Steff. She spent about 9 years of her childhood with some sort of orthodontic contraption in her mouth. She even had braces and full on head gear at one point. We tried to rummage up a picture of that, but couldn’t track one down yet. This darling picture with a retainer is the best we could find. Seriously-how cute was she?!
But 9 years of orthodontist appointments?! Steffany’s first set of metal was just from the regular dentist who may not have been totally qualified to fill cavities and fix an overbite. So after a few years of that not working, they went to an orthodontist who had to basically reverse all the dentist had done and start again. Lots of money and time wasted. In the end of course she got a beautiful smile. 🙂
So, how do we avoid the same kind of orthodontic fate for our kids? We find a good orthodontist FIRST. 🙂 Last week we did a quick post about my skepticism with this sort of thing and the orthodontist I have chosen to take my kids to. You guys! I am seriously so pleased with Dr. Parker!
This was a consultation appointment just to see where Anni stands with her teeth. One reason I picked Dr. Parker is because he’s just the kind of guy kids will like. He talks in normal words, you know what I mean? It’s not all business and no fun there. He seriously had Anni laughing as soon as she hopped in the chair. Then it went something like this:
Dr. Parker, “You have 3 loose teeth!”
Anni, “I know! You can pull them out.”
Seriously, like one second later he had a tooth in his hand. Anni cracked up and was shocked that that just happened. Then she asked, “Why didn’t that hurt?!”
Dr. Parker, “I’m Painless Parker.”
He magically pulled out the other two loose teeth. I magically remained conscious. Pulling out teeth makes me queasy and he just pulled out 3 with nothing but his rubber gloved hands. (With Anni’s permission of course. 🙂
Anni, “I love this guy.”
I was right. He’s the kind of guy kids will like. 🙂 She was ready to slap some braces on that day! No braces just yet though. As I was hoping, Dr. Parker is not just out to make a buck off every set of teeth that walk in the door. That was seriously a fear of mine. He will recommend what he really feels is most beneficial. I was absolutely comfortable and happy with his recommended course of action for Anni.
So as I mentioned it’s not all just business there, they like to have fun! When someone gets their braces off they get to have a little dance party! Disco balls, music, and a bottle of Martinelli’s! They celebrate!! I’m telling you, Dr. Parker and his staff love their jobs. And that makes a big difference for the patients.
Then after an appointment, they can have a cookie. And they are yummy! Seriously a nice touch. 🙂
We came home with two little treasure chests and 3 teeth to put under her pillow. She was so excited!
