We are rocking this week with Christmas posts! The fact is, we are running out of time to share all things Christmas-can you believe it?! It’s serious countdown time until the big, magical day!
But today, we bring you garbage. Ha! Seriously though, cereal boxes turned to trees and magazine clippings as art. My girls had so much fun helping me scour old magazines for just the right letters to spell “Joy to the World.” We just clipped and glued the letters onto a piece of map scrapbook paper.
Now for the cereal box trees. Remember THESE Sweater Trees from last year? These are like the 3D version. All you need is…..a cereal box of course. And hot glue. And a sweater or some felt to cover it.
First, pull the box open so it lays flat then cut off the flaps on the top and bottom.
Pick a corner and start rolling into a cone shape.
Use hot glue to hold it in place.
Last, cut along the bottom so the tree stands flat.
Finally, cover the trees with an old sweater, or felt.
I’ve got it all displayed with these darling Russian nesting dolls in front of my huge chalk map.
Hooray for recycling! We can’t wait to make more art using magazine clippings.
