Happy Monday - we hope you had a wonderful weekend! We went to the park yesterday because it was 54 degrees here! We are having super mild winter for Utah. Gotta say, I don’t mind it one bit! I’m not much of a cold winter enthusiast. We might even make it to the zoo this week:). So, what could be more interesting than the weather? Ha ha. How about birthdays?
Would you believe 4 out of the 6 in my little family have birthdays within a month of each other? It’s true, right by Christmas and everything. Clearly, we missed the class about family planning. In addition to our 4, it’s also my mom and father-in-law’s birthdays within the same time frame. So last week marked the end of ‘Birthday season’ around here. Hallelujah!
This year I actually caved and let each of my girls have a small friend birthday party, which I never do. You can see why, I’m sure, due to the whole 6 family birthdays+Christmas+New Year’s+over-achieving inclined mother+lack of time and money stuff. I managed to keep it all pretty simple, but we won’t be doing it again in the foreseeable future……or possibly EVER.
Anyway, today we’re sharing an easy paper craft for kids that we did at one of the parties. It was a hit!
Here’s all you need:
- Double sided tape
- White cardstock paper
- Colored cardstock paper
- Silhouette Cameo (or scissors or Xacto knife)
First, cut out a shape or monogram on the white cardstock.
Then, cut the colored cardstock into strips about 1 inch wide. We got our cardstock from Michaels-all on sale. Yahoo!
Run a piece of double sided tape along the back side of the monogram and let the kids place colored strips (colored side down) until the whole monogram is filled.
That’s it! The girls had so much fun mixing and matching the patterns and colors.
Such an easy craft for kids AND it’s cute enough to stick in a frame for their bedroom! As an extra bonus-it’s inexpensive too! Perfect for a party, play date, or just for fun.
Linking up to some of these parties:
I love these! How fun! And the Washi tapes you chose are gorgeous!
These are so cute! I can totally pull something like that off….easy peasy. Thanks for sharing!
