Since we discovered heat transfer vinyl, we have gone a little wild with the possibilities! Remember our Santa and Reindeer Garland? (Click HERE.) Then we did a Happy New Year Pillow (HERE.) Now we’ve got a couple Valentine goodies to share, a cute pillow and a shirt- we seriously love this stuff!
When using heat transfer vinyl:
- Cut on the backside of the vinyl, meaning you load the vinyl into your machine upside down.
- Mirror the image before cutting.
- Once cut, weed away the extra vinyl that is not part of the design.
- Press with a hot iron for 15 seconds.
- Peel off the clear carrier sheet.
We failed to take step by step pictures on this one, but THIS tutorial from dailycraftvinyl.com is great if you need a little more guidance. Also, that is where we get all our vinyl-love them! We used our Silhouette and some arrows from the Silhouette design store to make this pillow.
Then, using the same gorgeous red glitter vinyl, we made this adorable shirt. This is just a cute black and white polka dot shirt from Walmart that was only $3.88. What a perfect way to doll up an inexpensive shirt, right?! This is perfect for Belle to wear for her Preschool Valentine party, but really-she can wear it all year long! Hearts are not just for Valentine’s Day! So cute. Super quick and easy too. Can’t wait for Belle to look all cute and festive for V-day! Now if I could just talk her into wearing the bow for longer than 30 seconds….. I managed to get her to leave it in JUST while I took a few pictures, but she had it out before I set the camera down. This one is not a girly girl in any way, shape or form, so at least she LIKES the shirt-glitter and all. 🙂
