Today we’re sharing the baby shower I put together for my sister, with the help of my sister in law and my mom. We kept it super simple, but I think it turned out really cute! If you ask me, the secret to nailing any party decor is banners. I’ll hang them anywhere I can! They are so easy to make and so inexpensive!
If you remember Steffany’s baby shower last year, you will definitely notice similarities. It’s just my shower style I guess. For every party I host I put out my double sided chalkboard easel. It’s really become it’s sole purpose in life. It says “Welcome” on one side to greet the shower guests, and “Thank you for coming” on the other side for the guests to see as they leave. Signs and balloons are always nice for showers to let people know they have found the right place! The first thing guests saw when they came in was this entry table. I borrowed the cute sign from my sister (it’s going in the nursery) and made my favorite kind of banner these days-a paper circle banner.
I bought a whole bunch of Thank You cards and put them out on this table for people to fill out an envelope. The framed sign says:
“The mom to be wants to thank you for your gift, but she doesn’t know where you live! Please write your address on an envelope to help her out. Thank you!”
This little idea is a huge help for the pregnant mama!

And of course, more banners. I love them. This was the focal point of the shower and the spot where my sister sat to open gifts.
The BABY BOY banner was paper and pre cut letter stickers I found at Target a while back. Easy! I strung it together with bakers twine and used regular old tape to attach it to the wall.
My sister can’t eat gluten, so our whole menu was gluten free. We served Chicken salad croissants (served with potato chips and rice crackers as the gluten free option.) Then we had little cups with Ranch, carrot sticks, and celery sticks, a gluten free green salad, and lots of yummy gluten free desserts which were supplied by my sisters mother in law.
I don’t know about you, but appropriate food amounts is my biggest stress when hosting a party. I can’t relax until I’ve made sure there is enough food. Fortunately, we did good with our portions! Whew!

Here we are -party animals! 😉 My mom, sister, me, and my sister in law. My sis in law is the only one of us who doesn’t look dressed for a funeral-haha. Also, the party was at my sister in law’s house, which is so beautiful! One day we should do a whole post just as eye candy of her house.
We had a great turnout, which was so awesome! She was completely showered with adorable, useful, and wonderful gifts!
Throwing a shower doesn’t have to be hard or over the top to be really nice. Most of my baby shower budget went to invitations and thank you cards. We decided to send out good old paper invites as well as setting up a Facebook event. There’s just no replacement for a snail mail invitation or card of any kind, don’t you think?
We are so excited for this cute baby boy! Just over a month to go before I can smooch on some sweet new baby cheeks!
