We’re so happy you got this cute Halloween Haunted House kit! This is just the perfect amount of spook and cute for Halloween decorating. Let’s get right to the tutorial- you have everything you need in the kit!
Start by painting the large photo block. You will paint all the sides, the back and just about 1/4 inch around the edge on the front. Also paint the wood finial black (the decorative piece that goes on top of the block.) Then paint the block haunted house the same way-sides, back, and around the edge of the front. (The picture below shows the back of both blocks.) You will also paint all the edges of the house overlay and the roof. Be sure to get all the sides of the windows and door too. Paint the edges and back of the star and the edges of the small roof overlay and your done with paint! Now let’s paint the front of the large photo block with wood glue, make sure to get all the way to the edges. Lay the ‘Halloween’ printable on the glue and press from the middle out, smoothing away any air bubbles. Place the finial in the hole and tie the ribbon around it. The block is done!
On to the haunted house! Place the overlay on top of the orange paper and trace all the edges, including the windows and door. Cut out the paper. The trickiest part is cutting the roof on the paper so it lines up with the roof of the overlay. Grab a ruler to help you out if you need it!
Glue the paper to the overlay.
Now place the overlay over the house block and mark where the windows and door are.
Use your marks to glue down the spider web paper and the door paper. Also trace the small roof overlay and the chimney onto the purple bat paper. Cut them out and glue.
Now glue all the pieces in place!
Trace the star onto the gold glitter paper.
Then wrap the star with wire however you choose and place the wire into the tiny hole on the chimney.
Use the gold push pin as a door knob. You can press it in all the way or press it in part way like we did. To finish the project, you can use a nail file or sanding block around the edges of all the paper. It’s up to you!
