We have had lots of snow so far this winter here in Utah. The snow is beautiful and fun to play in which really helps ease the pain of the cold weather - so we say “Let it Snow!” And why not say it with a sign? This cute Let it Snow sign is just what the cold weather needs. 😉
What’s in your kit:
- Wood block*
- ‘Let it Snow’ vinyl
- Navy paint
- Foam brush
*If you ordered a kit without wood you will need a wood block (or any surface you would like) that is 18 inches x 6 inches.
How to make it:
Step 1- Paint:
Start by painting the entire block Navy. We always recommend painting the sides first, then lay it flat to paint the front. Once dry, turn it over to paint the back. One or two coats is perfect depending on the look you want. We just did one coat on ours, we liked the wood grain showing through a bit.
Step 2- Vinyl:
Once the paint is dry, time to lay the vinyl. Peel the clear transfer tape (with the words attached) away from the backing.
Place it on the board. Press well with a vinyl squeegee or a credit card. A popsicle stick works well too! Then peel the clear transfer tape off. We have found it works best to peel at a steep angle. Work slowly making sure all the vinyl is staying on the wood. If you would like more in depth details about applying vinyl click HERE to see our ‘How to apply vinyl’ post.
That’s all there is to it! This Let is Snow sign is ready to display for winter. So easy and cute!
