We’re so happy you purchased the mini post with hanging shamrock and Easter egg kit! This cute post is so versatile-and can be used all year round. With the hanging shamrock and Easter egg, we’ve got a perfect start for some cute hanging decor!
In addition to the supplies in your kit, you will need :
- a screwdriver or drill
- scissors
- a pencil
- sanding block
- hot glue gun
The first step is to remove the hook from the post. Use a screwdriver or drill to detach the hook. Set them aside, or better yet, place them in a bowl or baggie for safe keeping until you’re ready to reattach them.
Next, paint the entire post white. Paint the sides, back, and just a little on the front of the Easter egg as well. Paint two coats.
Now paint the sides, back, and just a little on the front of the shamrock.
Trace the egg and shamrock onto the paper and cut out. (This can also be done before painting to avoid any pencil marks on them.) The X on our shapes indicates which side is the front, which makes it easier when attaching the paper so it fits exactly how it was traced and cut.
Paint some wood glue on the shamrock and egg and attach the paper. Let the glue dry. Then use a sanding block to sand away any paper that is hanging over the wood.
Now tie the green ribbon around the shamrock and the pink ribbon around the egg to finish them.
Last, use a little hot glue to glue a piece of jute to the back of each shape for hanging.
All done! Cute and simple.
