Who struggles to keep plants alive?! (Steff and I both have our hands up.) While we can’t make any green thumb guarantees, we can make a cute box to display the plants. This ‘please don’t die’ planter box may not actually save any plants, but it can’t hurt! This craft is perfect for a small herb garden, some succulents, or other small house plants, flowers, or even some fake foliage! Anything goes.
What’s in your kit:
- Wood Planter Box
- Stain
- White Paint
- Vinyl
- Brushes
How to Make it:
Step 1-Stain:
Start by staining the entire box. One light coat of stain is plenty. Let dry completely before moving to the next step.
Step 2-Vinyl:
Once the stain is completely dry, place the vinyl. Use a vinyl squeegee (or a credit card) to press the vinyl onto the box really well. If you are brand new to vinyl click HERE for step by step instructions.
Step 3-Paint:
Now paint over the outside and the top of the box. We left the inside stained. Brush carefully over the vinyl making sure not to push any large amounts of paint up to the lettering. We did one coat of white paint.
Step 4-Remove Vinyl:
Allow the white paint to dry, then it’s time to peel away the vinyl. Revealing those crisp lines is the best part of this project!
Step 5-Plants:
This craft is in your hands now-we can take no responsibility for any plants you may aquire. 😉 Whatever you choose, we hope it will do as it’s told…. and not die!
