Spring is right around the corner! We’ve been teased with a few warm, sunny days and Spring fever has begun. We’re ready to pull out all the colorful, Spring-y decorations we can get our hands on! These cute puddle jumping rain boots are just perfect for satisfying that Spring fever. We’re excited you picked up a kit- you’ll have this out for display in no time!
What’s in your kit:
- Wood rain boots + overlays
- Wood block
- Paint
- Brushes
- Wood glue
- 2 Ready made bows
- “Puddle Jumping” vinyl
- Polka dot stickers
You will also need:
- Sanding block
- Hot glue gun
Step 1- Sand and Paint:
As with any wood craft, you may need to sand any rough spots before starting. Then paint each rain boot yellow, also paint the entire block blue. Paint the overlay pieces black.
Step 2- Vinyl:
Once all the paint is dry, you can place the vinyl. For the boots, just peel and stick the polka dots wherever you choose! Your kit includes 20 polka dots- 10 for each boot.
We set (but not glued) the overlays on the boot to give us an idea of where to place the dots.
As you can see, we let some be partially covered by the overlay, and some partial polka dots on the edges. Simply cut the excess off.
Next place the word vinyl on the blue block. Peel away the white backing, place the words and press with a vinyl presser or a credit card.
Then peel away the clear transfer tape.
Step 3- Glue:
Use wood glue to attach the black overlay pieces onto the boots.
Then use a hot glue gun to attach the bows.
That’s all there is to it! Cutest little rain boots we’ve ever seen!
